Mentoring Mondays for the Land Surveying Profession is a weekly meeting room for anyone wanting to learn more. Whether you are a freshman in college or a 50-year Professional Land Surveyor, we all have questions, or we want help with that second opinion.

May 17th – Michael Schoder, PLS – Retired BLM Chief Cadastral Surveyor for Alaska presenting on the protest and appeal protest from the State of Alaska of BLM Alaska surveys of Group No. 882 and associated Groups 211 and 212, surveys that located the northwesterly boundary of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge on Alaska’s northern coastal plain. Michael will provide insight into the protest and appeals process, the BLM’s role in approving surveys with contentious adverse adjoins, and the extent of work to support the protest and appeals process. A poorly written land legal description for the federal withdrawal for ANWR was the source of different interpretations and causes of the contentions and protest.
