Mentoring Mondays for the Land Surveying Profession is a weekly meeting room for anyone wanting to learn more. Whether you are a freshman in college or a 50-year Professional Land Surveyor, we all have questions, or we want help with that second opinion.

April 19th – Dr. Tony Nettleman, PLS, Esq.

This presentation will introduce us to the complex and confusing world of riparian water boundaries. The seminar begins with the historical development of water boundary law with regard to Rome, England, and the United States. After a foundation has been laid, the boundary between private lands and the sovereign, a boundary in continual conflict, will be discussed in depth. Next, the differences between inland and ocean and private and public waters will be explained. Students will apply what they have learned in group exercises by calculating and drawing water boundaries in various situations.
